Time can mould us

Interesting how certain moments in time can mould us and how honesty comes from lighting fires.

When I was 8 years old my brother and I were expected to come home from school and be responsible until my parents came home from work.

Although some of you might gasp at the thought of an 8 & 7-year-old being at home alone I don’t ever recall being scared about being on my own without parental supervision.

Years later relatives used to say that I had to grow up quickly.

Welcome to Don Jon Journeys!

The Story Hunter. A New Journey.

With the world health situation (COVID-19) it will bring about a whole gamut of new beginnings because we’ll have the time to slow down to think and re-think our directions and choices.

My thoughts have led me to ask myself, ‘What are the things that I truly like and want to do?’ I have to face it, as much as I larv working in the Travel industry, it’ll be some time before it’ll be up and running again.

So, my journey has directed me towards my long-time passion of searching for the stories of our Family Trees.

I am soo excited to be able to spend every day – all day working in it!!

My discoveries have led me to soo many ‘pearls’ of information.

With a maiden name that is European, I felt I didn’t belong. No Australian history here, right?

How wrong was I? Of course, there was. There are 2 convicts – so far, pioneers and some from the 2^nd Fleet in 1790. Australia was only 2 years old!!

This means that places in the UK, Europe and even the Baltics are now on my Bucket List. Wahoo!

Treasure Trove

Researching branches of the Family Tree has been an absolute treasure trove!!

With all this PASSION, I’ve been asked by others to help with their Family Trees and just larv some of the stories they have and now I can help you.
